My son practically lives in these during summer practice, and the fabric really does keep him dry even when he's running drills in the heat. The lack of an inner brief was actually a plus for us since he wears his own compression underneath.
My son wore these for back-to-back tournament games on a hot afternoon, and they were dry by the time we got to the car. The lack of an inner brief is actually perfect for layering over his compression shorts.
The fabric really does keep things cool and dry, even during those long August games when the sun just doesn't let up. My kid has worn them three times this week and they still feel light, plus the lack of a liner makes them way easier to toss in the wash after a muddy day.
